David’s Story

Life is difficult enough without having to deal with addiction, unemployment and homelessness.

After suffering through the death of people he cared about, David was dealing with all three of these challenges. He was pleased to find shelter and support at the Pope Francis Center in Detroit. While staying there, he also learned about Better Way Detroit (BWD) and applied to the program.

The staff at BWD discovered in David a highly motivated man looking forward to rebuilding his life. David said the BWD program has improved his self esteem and given him structure and a more positive attitude. Now he is motivated to rehabilitate his life. David has been able to find work and is striving to develop his character, ethics and spirituality. May he be blessed in his efforts toward a better future.
